The Questions Authors Actually Ask

How long until I have finished files?

Most kits land in roughly two weeks from the signed brief — call it 14 days with your feedback turned around promptly. A single cover can move faster; a full shelf system with reader-site visuals may run a few days longer. Pre-order deadline looming? The Sunrise Rush delivers inside a week for a 25% bump.

How many directions do I see, and how many revisions?

You never get one take-it-or-leave-it jpeg. Every cover starts with three distinct directions — different nerve, different hue. Once you choose, the chosen one is refined until it feels inevitable; we don’t stop at “fine.” Big pivots outside the brief are the only thing we’d re-quote.

What do you need from me to start?

The manuscript or a solid synopsis, your title and genre, the final page count and trim size for the spine math, and a sentence on the feeling you want a reader to carry off the shelf. If you have comp titles you admire, bring them — they tell us the shelf before we design for it.

Do I own the artwork when it’s done?

Yes — on final payment, the cover, wordmark, and all delivered files are yours to publish, sell, and reprint without limit. We keep the right to show the finished work in our own portfolio, nothing more.

How does payment work?

Half invoiced to reserve a slot on the bench, the balance on delivery of final files. We invoice by card or bank transfer — there’s no cart here; you email, we scope, we send an invoice. Backlist and series pricing is settled on a short call once we’ve seen the shelf.
